Dr. Andrea Mustian, DMD
Harvard School of Dental Medicine, 2011
Dr. Andrea Mustian was born and raised in Boulder, CO. She received her B.A degree in Chemistry from St. Olaf College, and her D.M.D from Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2011.
Having been raised in Boulder, CO and growing-up as a patient in Steve Koral’s dental practice, Dr. Mustian has always believed in holistic dentistry. Despite her attempt to minimize the use of amalgam in Dental School, she was exposed to high levels of mercury during practica. She became ill, and it became apparent that her poor health was correlated to periods of high mercury exposure. Upon graduation from Dental School she was trained in safe amalgam removal techniques, ozone treatments, and biologically safe ways of performing extractions and root canals. She is very committed and passionate about mercury-free and holistic dentistry, and thrilled to be part of Boulder Holistic Dentistry.
She is a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) and the Rocky Mountain Dental Association.
Dr. Carmen Burke, DDS
Loma Linda University Dental School
Dr. Carmen Burke is in her first year at Boulder Holistic Dentistry. She is a graduate of Loma Linda University Dental School in Loma Linda California. She previously practiced dentistry in her native Colombia for 10 years.
Dr Burke has merged her love of holistic health with dentistry. She is an active member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, which is the leading organization in science based biological dentistry. Carmen is finishing a certificate in biological dentistry from the American College of Integrative Medicine and Dentistry as well as taking courses in Ozone Therapy. Dr. Burke met Dr Koral through the IAOMT, loved his philosophy and had the opportunity to be trained by him in April before he passed away.
Dr. Burke’s philosophy is to educate every patient in order to provide awareness of a the importance of maintaining good oral health because the immune system starts in the gut and the gut starts in the mouth. Dr. Burke has a very conservative approach to dealing with dental issues, not doing anymore than is necessary, and promises her patients that they will be treated the same way her husband and children are treated. She feels biological dentistry most closely fits her philosophy.
Dr Carmen is a gentle, caring dentist who cares about people. She is married with two young children who are currently in the Boulder Valley School District and enjoys doing outdoor activities with her family.
